How to Make an Alcohol Free Dogwood Punch

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dogwood berries
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the dogwood berries and place them in a large pot with 6 cups of water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until the berries are soft and the liquid is a deep pinkish-red color.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher or bowl, pressing down on the berries to extract as much juice as possible.
  4. Add 1 cup of sugar to the juice, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  5. Stir in 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
  7. To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the dogwood punch over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.
