Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 1/2 lemon (juiced)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cups sparkling water or ginger ale
  • Ice cubes
  • Pear slices and ginger slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the pears, then chop them into small pieces.
  2. Grate or finely chop the fresh ginger.
  3. In a blender, combine the chopped pears, grated ginger, lemon juice, and honey or maple syrup.
  4. Blend the mixture until smooth and well combined.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp or fibers.
  6. In a large pitcher, combine the strained pear and ginger mixture with sparkling water or ginger ale.
